Our kids Jiu-Jitsu classes are for children from 8-12 years old. We teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with techniques from Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling, and Karate in the mix. Our focus in this class is fun, fitness, and learning. Students can expect a warm-up followed by a 5 minute 'Mat Chat' about one of our 'core values'. We'll also work on techniques and drills. And of couse play some games to end off the class.
This grappling class is meant for all levels, beginners to advanced. Students can expect a moderate warm-up followed by live positional training to build and practice specific grappling skills or positions. Techniques will be taught at a range of levels. The pace is moderate to fast. Sparring is also included in most BJJ classes.
These sparring sessions are meant for all BJJ students with over one month of training (students with less than a month of training will require permission from the head instructor). We encourage both competitive and non-competitive students to participate in Randori sessions. Sparring in BJJ consists of live training with a resisting opponent. You are trying to better your positional dominance and looking to finish with a submission where your opponent is trying to thwart your efforts and control you. Randori is a great workout and the best way to increase your technique, proficiency, and timing in BJJ. The pace is moderate to fast. Randori is a very rewarding practice for the beginner and seasoned veteran alike.
Our flexibility training allows our students to develop both physical and mental strength through a variety of postures and breathing exercises. Our stretches and poses will encourage the relaxation, strength and flow needed for any BJJ and Muay Thai practitioner. With each posture, transition and movement you will be pushing yourself to your personal limit with a calm and clear attitude.
No-gi grappling is the same as BJJ but without the gi. Classes are structured the same way with a moderate warm-up, positional drills, and technique. Sparring also takes place in these classes.
All levels are welcome to participate. The pace is moderate to fast. Students can expect to learn wrestling and grappling trechniques which translate well to submission grappling, self-defense and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) competition. Some of our competitors may be preparing for MMA competitions and these training sessions may include drills and techniques for that area.
These sparring sessions are the same as BJJ Randori but without the uniform. Both competitive and recreational grapplers are encouraged to participate. The pace is moderate to fast.
Students preparing for MMA competition may be sparring in these sessions as well, and will require proper safety equipment i.e. gloves, mouthguard, shin-guards, cup, and head gear.
Muay Thai Cardio Conditioning is focused on overall fitness and consists of a challenging warm-up, conditioning and cardio drills, as well as practicing Muay Thai kickboxing techniques on thai pads and heavy bags. The pace is moderate to fast and most find it to be a very good workout. All levels of student are welcome, and it is recommended to go at your own pace and listen to your body while you adjust to the pace of the workout.
These focus on learning and practicing Muay Thai offensive, defensive and clinching techniques. Students also particpate in skill and timing drills. More advanced and competitve students will learn to spar for competition and self-defense. Students who wish to learn to spar will need thier own 16oz gloves, shin-guards, head gear, mouthguard and cup.
These focus on advanced aspects of Muay Thai including but not limited to advanced drills, techniques (both offensive and defensive) and sparring.
Kettlebell training is a short , intense workout that combines cardio conditioning and strength training. These 30 min sessions are designed to push students to the next level of fitness by building power, improving endurance and toning the body.
Fitness circuit classes are a combination of Kettlebell training, Muay Thai conditioning and yoga techniques designed to get the desired fitness results of a boot camp.
Open Training is free time for members to use the facilities to train, practice technique, or spar either alone, or with other members.
